Understanding Behaviour in Children and Adolescents

Struggling with challenging behaviour at home or school? I offer behaviour consultation services for families, teachers, SENCOs and other professionals across the Wairarapa (Masterton, Carterton, Greytown, Featherston) and Wellington regions.

My service helps you understand what's driving a child's behaviour and provides practical, evidence-based strategies that support positive change at school, at home, or in ECE settings.

Areas commonly addressed include:

• Emotional and social challenges: Separation anxiety, tantrums, oppositional behaviour, and emotional regulation.
• School-related difficulties: School refusal, learning challenges, and managing academic stress.
• Neurodevelopmental considerations: ADHD and other attention or focus difficulties.
• Daily life skills: Sleep problems, eating difficulties, and self-care challenges.
• Parenting support: Guidance on discipline, routines, and strategies tailored to your child’s needs.

• Observation in school, ECE, or home (if needed)
• Functional behaviour analysis to identify triggers and patterns
• Collaborative planning with parents, teachers, SENCOs, whānau an other professionals

All support is trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, and culturally responsive.

Cost

Behaviour consultations cost $180 per session, with most children or families needing a minimum of 3 - 6 sessions to develop effective strategies. Now accepting new clients for Term 1, 2026.
