Learning Disorder Assessment

A learning disorder assessment helps identify specific learning difficulties that may affect reading, writing, maths, or other academic skills. I offer private assessments across the Wairarapa and Wellington regions, helping families and schools understand a child's learning profile and provide practical, evidence-based strategies for success.

Assesments are suitable for children and young people who are struggling to meet learning expectations, showing uneven academic progress, or suspected of having dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, or other specific learning disorders.

Areas we usually explore:

  • Reading skills (decoding, fluency, comprehension)
  • Writing skills (spelling, written expression, organisation)
  • Maths skills (number sense, calculation, problem-solving)
  • How your child processes, stores, and retrieves information
  • Strengths and challenges in learning and daily classroom task
  • Developmental and family history
